Guillermo del Toro has shared spooky details of his stay at a vintage hotel in Scotland, where the director claims he encountered real ghosts.
The encounter with the supernatural took place in Scotland, where the director was filming a new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein. Guillermo del Toro stayed with the film crew at the hotel, which is more than two centuries old.
After the first night, one of the producers complained that there was something strange going on in his room with electricity and objects. After that, Guillermo moved there and started reporting on his social network page.
“Nothing terrible has happened yet, but the atmosphere in the room is depressing. I don’t want to stay here anymore because I need at least six hours of sleep before filming. There’s definitely something in this room. Something spiteful and possessive,” he said.
Guillermo del Toro has a serious passion for the supernatural. This line runs through almost all of his work. Over the course of his three-decade career, the three-time Oscar winner has embodied vampires (Cronos, Blade II), ghosts (The Devil’s Backbone, Crimson Peak, Pinocchio), genetic modifications (Mimic), extra-dimensional creatures (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) and inexplicable monsters that defy classification (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water).
