Hugh Jackman brought the Deadpool and Wolverine crew to tears when he auditioned, and the moment he put on the yellow suit, he caused a wild wave of nostalgia.
Deadpool and Wolverine executive producer Wendy Jacobson told HeyUGuys how attendees reacted to seeing Hugh Jackman in his classic Wolverine role. “Hugh comes out in yellow and blue… There were grown men crying. We realized his look was something special, something very special,” Wendy said.
In an interview with Variety, Jackman said that he played the role in the standard black suit in “X-Men,” but the comic book version fit him perfectly. “I’ve never seen a reaction like this. We didn’t really talk about the costume in the early stages of development because it was easy. You can’t play a comic book character anymore unless you wear the costume,” Ryan Reynolds added.
