Katy Perry tried to explain the meaning of her new video to her fans. According to the singer, the viewers took it literally.

Katy noted that the “Woman’s World” video was shot in a sarcastic tone. The hypersexualization was planned from the beginning. “We’re just having fun, exaggerating and making fun of it. It’s very casual and very funny,” Katy wrote on her page.

Let’s remember that Perry’s fans were outraged because the song, in which she defends feminist ideas, was accompanied by a video that was clearly aimed at male visual pleasure. Moreover, in the middle of the video, a giant anvil falls on the dancers.

Katie explained that this was intended to show the process of starting over, where a woman stops following pop culture stereotypes and accepts her divine nature.

However, some complaints from fans remain unanswered. For example, there are obvious coincidences between the video of another popular singer and the participation of producer Dr. Luke, who was accused of sexual assault and battery by singer Kesha.
