Taylor Swift: First Study Reveals Her Influence on Her Fans’ Health

Did you think that everything has been said about Taylor Swift? Her ability to fill stadiums around the world by the dozen, to positively influence the American presidential elections… But that’s not all.

Taylor Swift is undoubtedly the queen of all records. Her tour The Tour of the Eras has totaled 11 million viewers, her fortune is incredible and her influence could weigh in the next American presidential elections. She is also the only artist to have caused an earthquake of magnitude 2.3 on the Richter scale, the first singer to have been elected personality of the year by the prestigious Time magazine. We could extend the list because the albums are impressive, but there is another area in which the artist plays a positive role: that of eating disorders.

Taylor Swift Seen As A Role Model

A new study from researchers at the University of Vermont found that Taylor Swift’s openness about her body image and eating issues had a beneficial effect on the attitudes and behaviors of her peers. The star has never hidden her eating disorder. She’s mentioned it in songs like “Anti-Hero” and “You’re On Your Own, Kid.” She’s spoken openly about the pressure to conform to society’s beauty standards and the harmful behaviors she’s engaged in. She recently came out to defend Lady Gaga, who’s been the subject of persistent pregnancy rumors.

Many comments highlighted how Taylor Swift’s transparency on these topics helped them feel better and seek healing.
