Showrunner Steve Blackman has found himself at the center of a scandal after 12 employees who worked with him on “The Umbrella Academy” for four seasons came out against him.
The report, obtained by Rolling Stone, alleged that Blackman created a toxic environment within the team. It was revealed that the showrunner hired female writers, one of whom was pregnant. Despite signing a five-person contract, she went on maternity leave a month after starting work.
She later returned to her job, but Steve did not want to renew her contract. The girl was shocked by this behavior. Another employee, who wanted to remain anonymous, told how it all really happened: “She told me that he fired them because one of them was pregnant and he didn’t tell her about it.”
