Help! 12-string acoustic guitar used by John Lennon and George Harrison on their albums. “Rubber Soul” went under the hammer for almost 267 million rubles, according to the website of the auction house Julien’s Auctions.

John Lennon’s Hootenanny guitar became the Beatles’ most expensive instrument and the fifth most expensive guitar ever sold at auction. The musical instrument was purchased from New York’s Hard Rock Café as part of a two-day auction. The buyer bid by phone and preferred to remain anonymous.
The guitar was made in the early 1960s. The instrument is featured in videos for The Beatles’ songs “It Is Only Love”, “I Have Just Seen a Face” and “Girl”, as well as in the musical comedy “Help!” Auction house manager Darren Julian said the guitar had been sitting in the attic of a private home for nearly half a century. Owners forgot they had this vehicle.

The guitar was given to the family by Gordon Waller, a member of the pop duo Peter & Gordon, who collaborated with The Beatles. Years later, the instrument was discovered by the new owners of the house and put up for auction. In addition to the guitar, its original case has also been preserved. The auction house manager noted that he had to fish it out of the trash can.
