It’s safe to say Jeremy Renner He’s not done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet and there’s no doubt we’ll see him in action again as Hawkeye.

He recently shared that he visited the set of Avengers: Judgment Dayand while he didn’t confirm whether he was there to shoot anything, his comments are sure to get fans talking. Renner also explained what the future prospects could be Hawkeye Season 2.

Speaking to Cinema Blend, he revealed that he visited his old Avengers teammates while they were filming Avengers: Doomsday in London.

“Yes, well, [they] they are my dearest friends. I got to meet them, actually, on the book tour while they were filming in London. I got to break bread with all the guys on that show. It was great to see everyone and we have a bond forever. Whether we’re filming or not, we’re always connected.”

It’s good to know that it maintains close ties to the MCU family. If that means Hawkeye will make an appearance Avengers: Judgment Day remains to be seen.

Renner recently made it clear that he’s still open to doing another season of Hawkeye, even joking that it would once again be set during the holidays.

“For a second season, the idea was always to continue that narrative, even in the Christmas context, because they love that world of New York. There’s really no place more beautiful than New York until Christmas. After Christmas it’s a little bleak.”

Renner added, “It’s not really my decision to make,” suggesting that the ball is in Marvel’s court when it comes to greenlighting the next installment.

Although Hawkeye Season 2 isn’t coming anytime soon, season 1 has already passed the baton Hailee Steinfeldis Kate Bishop, making her a key player in the MCU’s next generation of heroes. He is expected to return Avengers: Judgment Day along with the Young Avengers, who could continue the legacy started by Barton.
