Katy Perry bought a mansion in Montecito, for which she fought for several years. The purchase price is more than one billion rubles.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the 39-year-old singer has already completed the paperwork and became the full owner of her dream home. Perry attempted to purchase luxury real estate in 2020. The former owner of the mansion, 84-year-old Carl Westcott, first signed the documents, then stated that he did so under the influence of illegal substances.
“Westcott has not presented convincing evidence that he lacks the capacity to enter into a real estate purchase contract,” Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner said, according to People.
Perry’s lawyer, Eric Rowan, said in a statement to Rolling Stone: “The evidence shows that Mr. Westcott breached the contract only because he changed his mind. The court ruled in favor of the singer in November 2023.
