A moment of silence was observed in memory of actor Matthew Perry at the BAFTA television awards ceremony. The actor failed to receive the prestigious award during his lifetime.

The Friends star died in October 2023 at the age of 54. After the awards were presented for their contributions to cinema, the presenters suggested commemorating the deceased artists. Fans of the actor responded with many comments online.

“It’s still very painful to see Matthew Perry on the list of BAFTA’s dead people”, “Matthew Perry’s departure is still a gut punch. I love him so much”, “I tried to prepare to meet Matthew Perry at the memorial but… I’m still crying” posted online fans express their sadness.

Matthew won the love of fans around the world for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends. This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the last episode of the cult comedy series.
