Which countries spend their lives on screens? A new study from Electronics Hub* has revealed the time spent in front of screens in several countries across Europe, North America and Asia in a series of infographics. And the champions are the South Africanspassing more than half of their time awake on screens, at a rate of 56.80% and 9 hours a day. The country is then followed shortly by Brazil, where 54.73% of waking time, or 9:13,, is dedicated to screens. Performed by Philippines in third place, with 52.28% or 8:52 on average.
France is far behind the leading trio
And France? Even as children’s screen time continues to increase, the country falls well short of the top three. Since the proportion of waking time spent in front of screens is 32.86%. Ugh. On the other hand, the French seem to particularly appreciate TikTok, the average active user consults 120 videos a day.
More specifically, the same top trio emerges on social networks. THE South Africans spend 22.26%. of their waking time, followed by Brazilians with 21.48% and Filipinos with 21.03%. In France this figure reaches 11.02%. The study also finds that the average person around the world spends three minutes more per day in front of the screen compared to last year.
