Which workout schedule is good for your health?

The traditional five-day work week is the main fear of closers who strive to work for themselves from their youth. Still, jokes about office plankton should apply to other generations as well. But a recent study by scientists showed that this program is the least harmful to health.

New York University School of Social Work professor Wen-Yui Han used data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, conducted between 1957 and 1964. Participants were between 14 and 22 years old at the start of the survey. Every few years, all survey respondents were surveyed again. In it they answered questions about social status, level of education, physical and mental health.

The scientist divided all participants into five groups by type of work activity: unemployed; people with a fixed work schedule; people with fixed schedules that sometimes become unstable; employees who previously worked a fixed schedule but then moved to an unstable schedule; People who worked a fixed schedule at the beginning of their careers but later moved to irregular hours.

During the study, it turned out that a five-day diet with a fixed schedule is the most optimal diet for health. People who worked this way from their youth complained less about their health as adults.

Occasional overtime and an unstable schedule had a bad impact on his health trajectory. But those who worked with a stable schedule at the beginning of their working career and then switched to a completely irregular schedule found themselves in the most unfortunate situation. After age 50, they almost always showed signs of depression or chronic illness.
