The son of 77-year-old singer Cher Elijah Blue Allman objected to his mother trying to give him custody. The man is sure that there is no reason for this.
In the statement, the 47-year-old man claims that he has no right to control the life of the star mother, since she is an independent and long-married person. He also noted that he remains mentally healthy despite struggling with illicit substance addiction.
“My mother is 77 years old and will be 78 years old when this case is heard. I have seen him suffer from depression in the past and I do not believe he is capable of making appropriate decisions regarding my inheritance,” PEOPLE quotes Allman as saying in the petition.
In addition, Allman noted that if he needs a guardian, this issue will be decided by his wife, but in no case will his mother decide. Meanwhile, Cher was recently spotted with her new boyfriend, who is 9 years younger than her son.
