Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez Mora was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s oldest man. The centenarian’s death was announced by the country’s President Nicolas Maduro.

“I hug his family and express my condolences to all the residents of the city of El Cobre (where the centenarian was born),” the head of state wrote on the social network.
According to El Nacional, Perez Mora died at the age of 114 years and 339 days. The cause of death was respiratory complications. The man attributed his long life to “constant work, good rest, early sleep and a glass of brandy every day.” Juan is also known to eat well, pray and drink water.
Perez Mora had 11 children. The centenarian was recently living in a farmhouse in San José de Bolivar.
