Which departments are best to live in? The Zava platform, expert in medical teleconsultation, has published the ranking of ten departments of metropolitan France most favorable to well-being, where the French are more likely to lead healthy lives. And the first three are not surprising at all.
Pollution and sports centers as well-being criteria
To establish this ranking, Zava based itself on several criteria: the quality of air and water, the presence of green spaces, sports infrastructures or even “healthy” businesses. such as greengrocers or delicatessens, as well as the (non) presence of fast food outlets, or even bars.
In first position, these are the Alpes de Haute Provencelocated in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region which is the healthiest department with a wellbeing score of 8.10/10, because it is very little polluted, with numerous green spaces and sports centres.
In second place come the Hautes Pyreneeswith a score of 7.75/10, especially for green, while it is the Lozere which occupies third place on the podium, with a wellbeing score of 7.42/10, standing out in particular for its numerous and extensive hiking trails.
Paris (far) far behind
Where is the capital located? Paris is far behind the podiumand is ranked a 90And place in the ranking, out of 95. In particular, its pollution rate, which is the highest in all departments combined, gets the highest pollution rate in all departments combined, and has a low rate of businesses considered “healthy.”
Last place goes to Seine-Saint-Denis, the poorest department in France, designated as having a poor supply of “healthy” shops, as well as few sports centres.
