From 1 April 2024, several family social benefits will see their amount increase by 4.6%, following a government decision.
Good news parents! From 1 April 2024 various social benefits, around ten in total, will be expanded revaluation of 4.6% to offset inflation. Among these, numerous family benefits, such as Family allowances, the education allowance for disabled children (AAEH)or even thereturn to school allowance (ARS). Let’s take stock.
Which family benefits are affected?
- Family allowances
This increase, which last September was still just an idea, was confirmed on Monday 25 March by the Ministry of Labour, Health and Solidarity. Therefore, a family with two children with annual resources less than 74,966 euros they will now receive family allowances up to 148.52 euros per monthcompared to the previous 141.99 euros, while a family with three children will receive 338.80 euros against 323.91. - The return to school allowance (ARS)
Paid in August will also be revalued. Now it will amount to 406.98 euros for children aged 6 to 10 (compared to 398.09 before), a 436.37 euros for those aged 11 to 14 (vs. 420.06 today) and to 454.59 euros for adolescents aged 15 to 18 (compared to 434.60 euros previously). - Education allowance for disabled children (AEEH)
Intended for parents to help them in the education and care of a disabled child under 20, it has been strengthened: from May it will amount to 149.28 euros for the basic allowance. An amount to which is added a supplement that varies from 111.94 euros to 1,266.60 euros depending on the parents’ income and expenses related to the child’s disability.
