“See You in August” is a novel that Gabriel worked on in the most difficult years before his death. He had the idea of combining several love stories in the plot, but abandoned the idea when he realized that his health was beginning to deteriorate.

Gabriel Marquez passed away in 2014, and 10 years later his sons Rodrigo and Gonzalo García Barcha decided to re-read their father’s unpublished texts and then realized that the novel needed to be published. “There is nothing to prevent the reader from enjoying the most beloved features of Gabo’s prose. Marquez’s sons admitted that perhaps the main theme of all his work is love.
