Steve Altemus, president of Intuitive Machines, said during an online broadcast: “We are on the surface and sending out a signal. Welcome to the Moon.” “Science and technology payloads sent to the lunar surface are intended to form the basis for manned missions and a sustainable human presence on the lunar surface,” Steve added, referring to the Artemis program that will explore the Moon’s South Pole by 2025.

By the way, this is the first private module to land on the Moon and the first successful landing of an American spacecraft on the Moon in over 50 years. The second module will be sent in March and the third module will be sent in June.
