Blogger Ruby Franke, who broadcasts about the proper upbringing of children to 2.3 million subscribers, was sentenced to four prison terms from 1 to 15 years on charges of aggravated child abuse. The Guardian writes about this.

The woman was arrested last summer after her 12-year-old son managed to escape from the home of Jody Hildebrandt, the owner of a personal development consulting company where many mothers of children abused their own children. When the child was found, he had many wounds on his body and was wrapped with tape. The blogger later admitted that he kicked his son, held his head under water, and covered his nose and mouth with his hands to prevent him from breathing.

“I believed that darkness was light and good was evil. I would give everything in the world for you. I took from you everything that was tender, safe and gentle. For the last four years I followed advice that led me into dark misconceptions. My distorted version of reality was uncontrollable; I closed myself off to anyone who might challenge me,” Ruby said.
