Apple TV+ is developing a series adaptation of William Gibson’s cyberpunk science fiction novel Neuromancer and according to a new report, The Batman star Robert Pattinson he was reportedly offered the lead role of Henry Case.
This news comes from Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman who says so too Oscar Isaac, Chris Evans, Taron Egerton, Miles Teller, Jeremy Allen WhiteAND Nicholas Hoult they were also courted for the lead role. But, at the moment, Pattinson has the “current offer” for the role.
According to the character description, “Case is a skilled hacker with a troubled past. His experience in the technological underground makes him the perfect candidate for the mission, but his journey is filled with danger and uncertainty.”
Case will be joined by Molly: “A woman between the ages of 30 and 45, Molly is a formidable mercenary known for her ruthlessness and fighting skills. Operating in the physical realm, she serves as Case’s protector and ally in his mission.”
Then there’s Armitage: “A male between the ages of 45 and 55, Armitage is the enigmatic figure who hires Case for the mission. Ex-military and mysterious in nature, he brings a sense of gravity and intrigue to the story.”
In the story, Henry Case, “a former data thief who is recruited for a dangerous mission by a mysterious employer. In a world where cyberspace and reality merge, Case must face dangerous encounters with the help of Molly, a skilled street samurai with a penchant for danger. Together, they embark on a journey that will test their limits and challenge the very nature of reality itself.

Graham Roland will serve as writer, producer and showrunner of Neuromancer. He is best known for his work on the hit series Lost and Amazon Studios’ Jack Ryan series. Gibson will also serve as executive producer and one of the episodes will be directed by JD Dillardwho recently directed the war drama Devotion with Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) AND Glen Powell (Top Gun: nonconformist).
