- 6 round tomatoes
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 onion
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 eggs
Shakshuka recipe step by step
- Cut the onion and garlic into small pieces and sauté them in olive oil until they become slightly transparent and caramelised.
- Put a pan with hot water on the heat and place the previously washed cherry tomatoes in it. Soak them for 30 seconds, remove them and then place them in cold water. Once they have reached a bearable temperature, peel them and remove the pulp. Cut them into pieces.
- Place the peppers in the oven until lightly toasted. In this case, take them out, let them cool and don’t forget to peel them. Then clean the inside and cut them into pieces.
- Add the peppers and tomatoes to the garlic and onion mixture in the pan. Cook them for about 30 minutes. Salt and pepper.
- When the mixture forms a sort of compote, break the eggs. Cook them to your liking.
- Cut and toast some rustic bread.
- Serve everything on a plate and sprinkle with olive oil. Treat yourself!
