Whether in a stick or a jar, it is important to always have a lip balm on hand. I have to say it the lips are one of the most exposed areas of the body. Whether it’s the cold, rubbing against clothes or scarves and even our own saliva… All these elements can make them dry and chapped. Usually, applying lip balm can be a lifesaver. Unfortunately, not all formulas are the same. Magazine 60 million consumers I’ve looked into whether or not some lip balms are effective and one of these would definitely not be recommended.
The study in brief
To carry out this small study, 60 million consumers tested 22 lip treatments. We thus find big names in cosmetics such as Nuxe, Rooger Cavaillès, Avène and the famous Labello. And the results obtained by journalists are truly surprising. And for good reason, according to the magazine: “Less than half (of the products tested) are truly satisfactory, offering both good hydration performance and a reassuring composition.”
The worst ? The moisturizing wild rose lipstick from the Melvita brand. If obviously other products on this label have already proven their effectiveness, this appears to offer “no hydration gains” according to the magazine. Worse, the latter would contain many more allergens than other formulas: “The Melvita stick contains twice as much as Hema, Nuxe, Caudalie or Labello sticks”
Hard blow for the brand…

Who are the good students?
To redress the balance, 60 Millions of Conso’ also rewarded students who performed well in this test. In first place on the podium we find Baume-en-gel from the Vivaiodays brand. A brand still little known by the general public compared to the giants Nuxe and Avène, to name just a few. This triumph is due to several elements according to the magazine which explains:
“It has both the best objective hydration (+66% after two hours and +78% after four hours) and the lowest composition of risky substances.”
Now you know which formula to turn to in case of doubts…
