Channing Tatum confirms his adaptation of THE MAXX is still underway and shares his love for the character

Not long after this was reported Channing Tatum’S The Maxx film adaptation was progressing at Paramount Pictures, the actor confirmed the report and talked about how much he loves the character. Tatum shared the following in an Instagram post:

“This is my childhood love. The genius creation of Sam Keith. When I was grounded and couldn’t watch TV out loud, this was the MTV Oddities cartoon I would risk everything for. Sneak out of bed and put it on and pray I don’t get caught. Even now, after all this time, it still somehow seems ahead of its time. The characters in this movie – The Maxx, Julie Winters, and Mr. Gone – taught me things about life I planted complex ideas in my young mind that had a profound effect on the way I saw the world and the roles we play, which I didn’t understand intellectually until much later.

Tatum is obviously very passionate about this property and it will be interesting to see how he brings this character to life in a film. Crystal Moselle (The wolf pack, state cuisine) is attached to write and direct the film.

I was a big fan of it The Maxx, and I still have all the comics I collected from when I was a teenager in the 90s. I also loved that wild adaptation of the MTV animated series!

Originally published by Image Comics in 1993, The Maxx is known for its blend of superhero elements and psychological drama. The story follows Maxx, a homeless man who believes he is a powerful superhero in an alternate reality known as the “Outback”. In the real world, Maxx is a drifter cared for by a social worker named Julie Winters. The series explores the complex interplay between Maxx’s delusions and his real-life struggles, as well as the traumas and psychological issues faced by both Maxx and Julie.

The Maxx follows the dual identities of Maxx and Julie, and while Maxx is aware of the Outback, Julie is not, although the alternate realm is essential to both of their stories.
