The European Figure Skating Championships are currently being held in Lithuania. During the free skate, French athlete Xiao Him Fa did an illegal somersault. The judges fined the athlete two points, but this did not prevent him from winning the tournament.
“I want to bring back somersaults to the ice. As you can see, it looks very dangerous, but it is actually a very safe element. I would be happy if other skaters in the future do something that is not yet in strict rules, create new elements, push the limits of what is possible,” he explained his decision.
