What to eat on fasting days?

Let’s be honest, not everyone needs fasting days. If your daily diet is balanced and cannot be spoiled by anything, even long holidays, you can safely continue it. However, a few days of fasting may be beneficial for people whose digestive system has been working fast for a few days.

First of all, it is worth noting that fasting days should not turn into a diet and a test for the body. This is primarily an exercise that will lead to faster saturation of the body with less food. Therefore, it is beneficial to spend fasting days in this way.

There are many options for fasting days. Some people prefer to spend a few days on kefir, others on buckwheat, and still others on apples. However, the effectiveness and health benefits of none of these types have been proven. Many side effects may occur if your diet consists only of apples or only buckwheat for several days. Therefore, you should not stick to a mono diet. On fasting days, you should give up fatty foods and bakery products, take light proteins and suitable carbohydrates (cereals and vegetables, except root vegetables) as the basis of your diet. And of course, reduce your sugar consumption.

It is better to arrange fasting days on weekends, when there are no additional stress factors and physical activity. Moreover, the process of entering and exiting such a diet should be gradual. Gradually remove (and reintroduce) foods from your diet to avoid stressing your body.
