Two British tourists were stabbed in the back and legs along with a third victim at a tourist spot in Morocco.
The stabber ran into the sea and tried to evade capture by swimming away from the crime scene in the seaside resort of Agadir before being caught and arrested.
The Spanish newspaper La Razon reported that the police are currently investigating whether the incident is related to terrorism.
The 33-year-old suspect was reportedly sent to prison three years ago for drug trafficking.
The British holidaymakers have been described as a couple and the third victim is a Moroccan woman living in Belgium.

The man and two women, who reportedly suffered injuries to their legs and backs, were taken to Hassan II Hospital in Agadir.
The gruesome incident took place around noon yesterday on the promenade of Agadir, an international seaside resort on Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast known for its golf courses and broad crescent-shaped beach.
The boulevard is full of cafes, restaurants and bars.
Well-informed sources told the Moroccan press last night that the motive behind the knife attack is still being investigated and that the suspect remains in police custody.
Two of the victims were released after treatment, but the third victim, whose nationality was not disclosed, remains in hospital.
