Taylor Swift fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado’s cause of death revealed

We’re learning the cause of death of Taylor Swift fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado, who died after falling ill during Swift’s Eras concert on November 17 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Benevides died of heat exhaustion, according to a forensic report obtained by The Associated Press.

Benevides, 23, collapsed in the front row of the Estadio Nilton Santos stadium while waiting for the show to start and died hours later in a hospital.

According to the report, Machado had no “preexisting medical conditions or substance abuse” that could have contributed, but “heat exposure led to cardiac arrest.” The report also said that she suffered “severe lung damage and sudden death” due to the heat.

Extremely high temperatures at the time apparently contributed to her death. During the show, Swift repeatedly asked security to get water for fans who were absolutely floored in front of the stage. On the day of the concert, temperatures in the city soared to over 40 degrees, and many began queuing long before the show, reluctant to give up their place in front of the stage to get water.

Due to the extreme heat, Swift postponed her concert the next night.

Swift was devastated by Benevides’ death and posted a tribute to her on Instagram immediately after the concert. “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a broken heart that I say we lost a fan tonight, before my show. I can’t tell you how devastated I am about this.

“I have very little information about her so incredibly beautiful and way too young.

“I won’t be able to talk about it on stage because I’ll be overwhelmed with grief if I even try to talk about it. I want to say now that I feel this loss deeply and my sadness goes out to her family and friends. This was the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to take this tour to Brazil.

During her concert in Rio de Janeiro two days after Benevides’ death, Swift performed a profound album about grief, “Bigger Than the Whole Sky.”
