Snake killed by human bite: Motorcyclist destroys 10-foot python with his teeth when attacking it during a ride in the Philippines – then locals grill and eat it

A man survived a horrific python attack by biting the three-metre snake to death – before villagers could feast on its remains.

Boljulio Aleria (48) was riding his motorcycle through Antequera in Bohol province in the Philippines when the giant snake emerged from the grass and blocked his path.

He stopped and waited for the snake to pass, but was shocked when it slithered towards him in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The reptile sank its teeth into his arm as it wrapped itself around his waist and tried to pin him down.

“He bit my hand and I let go of the motorcycle,” Aleria told local media from a hospital bed. “Then his cock wrapped around my waist. ‘It happened so fast.’

“I thought I would die if I didn’t fight back. And I thought my only chance was to bite his neck to get him to loosen up a bit.

“I bit into it until the skin fell off.” And when the skin came off, I bit into the flesh. Only then did it come loose.”

The snake was later seen in the video being cooked and eaten by local residents, Aleria told local media

Despite feeling dizzy from blood loss, Aleria managed to run to the nearest house to call doctors.

“I felt dizzy because I lost so much blood,” he said.

Paramedics took him to the Governor Celestino Gallares Medical Hospital in Tagbilaran for treatment.

The snake’s teeth pierced his wrist, but fortunately missed the main arteries.

Photos from the hospital showed Aleria with a bandaged, bloody arm and blood on her face.

The survivor said the snake’s remains were eaten by villagers who roasted the snake over a fire. Snake is a common dish in the country.

Doctors prescribed antibiotics for his injuries and allowed him to go home from the hospital.

The reticulated snake is found all over Southeast Asia, where it lives in forests, swamps, canals and even cities, bringing it into conflict with humans.

Typically pythons pounce on their prey to bite them before applying physical pressure to crush and contract them.

The species is one of the largest snakes in the world and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.

They generally do not hunt humans, but may strike defensively if threatened or if they mistake a human for something else.

Last year, a 54-year-old grandmother was eaten alive by a 6-meter long python in nearby Indonesia.

Jahrah (54) disappeared on Friday evening in the forest near her parents’ home in Jambi province on the western island of Sumatra.

The local residents sent search parties and two days later in a clearing in the forest they found a huge snake with a swollen belly, and when they cut it open they found her body inside.

The village chief said at the time that it probably took two hours for the woman to die as the snake held her tight before it quickly wrapped around her and suffocated her.

The official said, “The victim did not return home on Friday after saying goodbye to her family to go to the garden and collect rubber from the trees.”

He added: “Local residents killed the snake and dissected its stomach. Everyone was amazed.

“It appears that the woman we were looking for was in the snake’s belly.”
