Emmanuel Macron, Carole Bouquet, Yann Moix: Gérard Depardieu’s defenders all have the point in common of having questioned the veracity of the images broadcast on the show Further investigationsin which the actor multiplies obscene comments towards women and a child. French television put an end to this false debate by demonstrating the veracity of the contents, thanks to the intervention of the judicial officer.
Because he “distrusts context”, Emmanuel Macron challenges images
French television proved that the actor’s sexual comments were actually directed at a North Korean child riding a horse. In support of this statement, the channel had the video authenticated by a judicial officeras announced in a press release published on Friday 22 December.
This approach was initiated in response to statements from several people questioning these images. The day after the broadcast, Cyril Hanouna, himself the subject of another episode of the show, also questioned the sequence, claiming that Depardieu did not remember saying the words he heard. A few days later, it was Carole Bouquet’s turn to qualify Further investigations From“shit show”.
France Télévision responded to his questions when Emmanuel Macron in turn questioned the veracity of the program. On Wednesday the president suggested that the sequence could have been altered during editing, a hypothesis also put forward by the actor’s family in a defense article published in the newspaper JDD. The head of state declared that he “distrustful of the context” in front of these images in which Depardieu asserts “If she ever gallops, she enjoys it. Good girl, she keeps it up” about a little girl on a horse.

In a press release broadcast on X, the journalists’ society (SDJ) of France Télévisions expressed his indignation at the remarks of the President of the Republic: “By reporting the hypothesis of a ‘discrepancy between words and images’ in one part of the report, Emmanuel Macron spreads ‘fake news’ and legitimizes attempts to destabilize the show”.
Gérard Depardieu has been indicted since 2020 for rape and sexual assault after the accusations of actress Charlotte Arnould. Since then, two other complaints have been filed for similar facts, one in France and a third in Spain.
