Figure skater Roman Kostomarov decided to tell everything he experienced in 2023 by giving an interview two weeks before the start of the new year.

Roman admitted that for a very long time he tried to cope with difficult thoughts about his future and past. The figure skater at first regretted agreeing to amputation and even believed that it would be better to die without fear. But his wife Oksana, who was always by his side, helped him find strength and self-confidence. Roman admitted that he held himself responsible for what happened.
“Myself. Overconfidence let me down. This was not the first time I got sick, like everyone else, I had a cold, cough, fever,” Kostomarov shared with Dmitry Borisov.

Many people were sick at that time, including his wife Oksana and Alexei Yagudin. During rehearsals, the athlete got wet all the time and went to the fan to dry, as he did all his life. However, he did not listen to his wife’s advice to take antibiotic treatment.

“I wasn’t going to die without a fight. If I had known it would be like this, I would have changed things radically a month ago, I would have taken antibiotics after my wife said so. “If I knew I would be left armless and legless, I would definitely change things, but I can only imagine that now,” Roman said.
