Tyra Banks’ bankable relaunch as SMiZE Productions inks deal with Echo Lake Entertainment to handle scripted content

Bankable Productions, the entertainment company founded by Emmy-winning television producer, host, entrepreneur and supermodel Tyra Banks, is relaunching as SMiZE Productions, a nod to her globally growing, impact-driven ice cream company SMiZE & Dream with locations in Australia (forthcoming). The company signed a deal with Echo Lake Entertainment to manage its scripted business. SMiZE Productions continues to be represented by UTA for unscripted content.

SMiZE Productions, founded by Banks, develops projects that entertain with universal programming that appeals to Banks’ large global audience. The SMiZE team prioritizes content designed to inspire the next generation of female creators.

It was recently announced that SMiZE Productions will be writing a graphic novel series based on the characters from their ice cream brand and inspired by Tyra’s family. The graphic novel, co-written by Banks and Sabrina Besla, vice president of development at SMiZE Production, will culminate in an immersive experience where fans can share their opinions on the appearance of the main characters.

Fans will have the opportunity to have their say on the title and the final will be announced during the upcoming LA Comic-Con, December 1-3, at the SMiZE & Dream booth. Comic Con attendees can even compete for the chance to become a character in the graphic novel. Echo Lake will drive the strategy to adapt the novels into film and television productions.
