A new name has been developed for the McDonald’s restaurant chain in Russia. As a sign, two Latin letters will be used – Ms. On May 23, a source in the restaurant market told Izvestia about this.
The source added that the menu in restaurants will not change conceptually: the names of the dishes can be as close to the classic McDonald’s menu as possible. And it was emphasized that, according to the agreement, the American company has a choice – in a few years it will be able to buy back its assets. The company’s general manager also noted: “They do not plan to keep the yellow letter “M” on the new McDonald’s brand in Russia, the signs will be dismantled.”
The day before, on May 20, Mikhail Burmistrov, managing director of the analytical agency INFOLine-Analytics, said that they plan to open McDonald’s under a new brand in Russia in July, but it may be in time by the end of June.
Recall that McDonald’s announced the suspension of business in Russia on March 14. The decision was explained by the “operational, technical and logistical challenges” that had arisen. The company’s press service told RBC that on May 19, the Russian business McDonald’s will acquire one of its restaurant franchises, Alexander Govor.
