The Red Sea International Film Festival has revealed the 26 projects selected as part of the industry-focused Red Sea Souk market, which runs from December 2 to 5.
Projects under development include A youthThe Lebanese-French filmmaker Danielle Arbid Love conquers all And Madness and honeymoons by Iraqi Ahmed Yassin Al-Daradji.
Within the Market selection, there are twelve Red Sea Lodge projects, developed over the course of the year through intensive workshops and in collaboration with the Torino Film Lab. Four of these projects will receive annual Red Sea Lodge production grants of $50,000 each.
All 26 selected projects compete for Red Sea Fund cash prizes awarded by an international jury of producers: $35,000 for development, $25,000 for the Jury Special Mention award and $100,000 for production
Another six projects will be presented in the “Works-in-Progress” section Men in the sun by Palestinian director Mahdi Fleifel, Red frog by the Tunisian Lotfi Achour and Yunan by Kiev-born German director Ameer Fakher Eldin, who is of Syrian descent. (Scroll down for the full list).
All selected films in the Work-in-Progress Showcase will compete for the $30,000 Red Sea Souk Post-Production Award and the $10,000 Jury Special Mention.

In addition to the ongoing project market and presentations, the souk will also host its “Red Sea 360°” industry workshops, panels and session programs focused on the future of the Arab, African and Asian film industries.
Confirmed speakers so far include former American Marvel TV director Karim Zreik, Jordanian writer and director Tima Al Shomali, South Korean producer Woo-Sik Seo, Saudi animation director Malek Nejer and Colombian producer Diego Ramírez Schrempp.
The Project Market jury consists of the Saudi producer Wael Abumansour (Telfaz 11), the French producer Jean Bréhat (Tessalit Productions), the Moroccan producer Lamia Chraibi (La Prod), the Senegalese producer Oumar Sall (Cinekap) and the Bosnian producer and director Jasmila Žbanić.
Judges for the works in progress include artistic director Gaia Furrer from Venice Giornate degli Autori, Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu and Iraqi-Italian director Haider Rashid.
