Screenworks Asia, the production subsidiary of Taiwan-based Catchplay, has teamed up with the Taiwanese branch of Chinese platform iQiyi to stream two of the original series: Not a murder story And I see you shine.
Will stream on Catchplay+ and iQiyi from January 2024. Not a murder story The film is directed by Chen-Nien Ko, one of Taiwan’s most promising young filmmakers, based on her award-winning feature film The silent forest and series Close your eyes before it gets dark.
With Kuan Ting Liu (A sun), Sonia Sui (Women who flirt) and Gingle Wang (Golf maker), Not a murder story is also broadcast on Taiwan’s GTV channel and Catchplay Movies Channel.
It centers around a wannabe actor who finally gets his big break, but wakes up with a dead woman by his side and makes things worse by trying to make the situation look like a heist gone wrong.

It follows Catchplay+ and iQiyi I see you shineproduced by Screenworks Asia and starring Regina Lei (Refuge of lies), Huai Yun Zhan (Golf maker) and Andy Huang (Gaga).
Yuqian Li, general manager of iQiyi for Taiwan, said: “iQiyi is committed to investing in more Taiwanese dramas to support Taiwan’s creativity and originality. We are happy to work with Catchplay again after our successful collaboration The Making of an Ordinary Woman II.
Catchplay Group CEO Daphne Yang said: “We are delighted to announce the release of our latest original Catchplay series with iQiyi. Not a murder story is an exciting crime thriller with a strong cast that we would like to present to the public.”
Established in 2020, Screenworks Asia is a joint venture between Catchplay and Taiwan Creative Content Agency to promote the production of premium Taiwanese films, series and factual entertainment for international audiences.
Recent projects include the second season of The making of an ordinary woman, which won the Special Prize for Foreign Drama at the 2021 Tokyo International Drama Festival; Variety display Dee’s conversation; and drama series Twisted stringsExecutive Producer: Hou Hsiao-Hsien.
Screenworks Asia and iQiyi announced the latest collaboration on the first day of the Taiwan Creative Content Fest, which takes place November 7-12 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei.
