According to the complaint read by Variety, Julia Ormond’s agents were aware of the disputed facts, as were some Miramax and Disney employees. “ None of these companies saw fit to warn Ormond that Weinstein was a predator, because he was making them too much money. “, we read in the complaint.
So, thirty years later, Julia Ormond no longer wants to remain silent.
“I decided to speak publicly because I feel it we have to change the system. We need those who facilitated Weinstein’s actions to be held accountable.”

From 2017 to the first accusations against Harvey Weinstein, almost 90 women have testified to the harassment, sexual violence or rape suffered by the former king of Hollywood. But in many of these cases the statute of limitations has expired.
In February 2023, Harvey Weinstein, already sentenced to 23 years in prison, was sentenced to another 16 years in Los Angeles, for sexual assault and rape.
