International media art festival “NUR”: how was it

The Third International Media Arts Festival “NUR” took place in Kazan from 8 to 10 September. Let’s tell you how it happens!

  • The day before the start of the festival, the organizers held a large-scale opening on the territory of Savin City. As part of this, the premiere of the B#ffffff multimedia installation by Radugadesign studio was held, which was exhibited in the Savin Premier premium residential complex. This was the first time in the history of the festival that a residential complex under construction became an object of art.
  • The main program of the festival included exhibitions and installations in 12 venues. The festival was opened to citizens by the Kerimov Printing House, where one of the installations of the media.tribe team’s INTERSECTION traffic lights is located.
  • Within the scope of the training program, 12 free lectures and discussions were held with the participation of famous studios, artists and experts in the field of contemporary art. One of the speakers of the program was Rustam Saifullin, an employee of the famous SKB Prometheus; he was the creator of the recently restored Raspberry Ring installation in the Spasskaya Tower of the Kazan Kremlin.
  • A mapping demonstration was shown on the Spasskaya Tower. Five projection shows presented by open call finalists from Russia, Italy and Chile, with the support of Tinkoff, transformed the UNESCO World Heritage Site beyond recognition.
