Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron finally has a (sublime) trailer

We would almost regret not having lived the experience conceived by Hayao Miyazaki, who decided that the Japanese public would discover it The boy and the heron straight to the cinemas. Fortunately, the dazzling beauty and captivating atmosphere of this first trailer released by international distributors is enough to console us.

First titled How do you live? then renamed The boy and the heronthe film is the adaptation book based on a novel by Genzaburō Yoshino released in 1937, a time when Japan was entering a process of militarization on the eve of World War II. In the film we follow Mahito, a 15-year-old boy who meets a heron. The mysterious bird will guide him into a strange and magical world, poised between life and death.
