Actor and comedian Eddie Murphy will clash with a magical creature this holiday season in Prime’s Christmas movie, Candy Cane Street. He acts in front Tracee Ellis Ross in the photo, which is directed by Reginald Hudlin (Party at home, Boomerang, Marshall, Sydney). The film “follows Murphy as Chris, a man determined to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest. After unwittingly making a deal with an elf (Jillian Bell) to increase his chances of winning, he casts a spell that brings the 12 days of Christmas to life, and chaos ensues for the entire town. Chris will then have to work to save Christmas for his family and his community, a feat that involves fighting magical creatures.” The screenplay is written by Kelly Younger and inspired by his childhood experiences on Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo.
Ross plays Chris’ wife, Carol. The film is also the protagonist Thaddeus J. Mixson, Ken Marino, Nick Offerman, Robin Thede, Chris Redd, Genneya Walton, Madison Thomas, DC Young Fly, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes AND Nancy Lenehan.
Hudlin said in a statement:
“I can’t wait for the world to see ‘Candy Cane Lane.’ I’ve wanted to make a Christmas movie my whole life, but I wanted to do something fresh and surprising. Eddie Murphy and this hilarious cast really bring the fun, it’s super Christmassy and will hit you right in the feels.
This looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun! Candy Cane Street will arrive on Amazon Prime on December 1st.
