What to wear: We vote for clothes that have meaning

In the spring, Tavrida art cluster and Rodina streetwear brand announced a competition to create sketches for a joint clothing line. Then the organizers received more than a hundred applications! We tell (and show) how it came about.

The works of Victoria Kutsenko from Rostov-on-Don and Polina Shuvalova from Moscow were recognized as the best. Clothing was introduced at the “Art.Molodost” fair festival, which was held as part of the Young Art Festival “Tavrida.ART” between 17-20 August.

“The work turned out to be difficult, but it was quite productive and interesting. We’ve only released a third of the collection so far, with the second part scheduled for release in a month. It will include plaid shirts made from Soviet blankets, oversized bombers inspired by rural aesthetics, a new hoodie model, as well as new colored T-shirts and pants,” said Artem Malyshev, founder of the Rodina brand and chain of stores.

By the way, the competition between the art set “Tavrida” and the Russian clothing brand “Rodina” was held for a month (from April to May this year). Designers aged 18-35 from all regions of Russia were invited to participate. By the way, clothes and accessories are made in Russian factories according to the drawings of the winners.
