Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney talked about her new role.
The actress admitted that she will be playing Spider-Woman on Madame Web in an interview with Variety. She literally went “crazy” when told to her. “I went to a comic book store and bought all the magazines with my character in them,” the actress said. Also, “I think it will be different from what one would expect from a superhero movie.” Sweeney will play Julia Carpenter from the comics (including the events of Earth-616) and later become Madame Web.
Recall that the premiere of the film is scheduled for February 14, 2024. Meanwhile, Madame Web became the first female protagonist to receive a solo film in the Sony Cinematic Universe, which includes Spider-Man and Venom. The film is directed by SJ Clarkson (The Descendants, Jessica Jones) and written by Matt Sazama and Burke Sharpless, writers for Power Rangers. Dakota Johnson also stars in the movie.
