In an Instagram post dated Aug. 8, 2023, Megan Fox describes them as so many ways some people might want to change for love, at the risk of damaging their identity:

“These poems were written in an attempt to remove the disease that had taken root in me due to my silence. I’ve spent my whole life keeping secrets from men, my body aches from bearing the brunt of their sins.

My freedom lives within these pages and I hope my words can inspire others to reclaim their happiness and identity by using their voice to illuminate what has been buried, but not forgotten, in the dark. »
