Jean-Marc Morandini he returned to court. After a first conviction in December 2022 for “corruption of minors” – to which he appealed – the CNews host is on trial on Tuesday 13 June for “sexual harassment” against a young actor. He risks up to 3 years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.
The facts date back to 2015, during one of the filming of the web series The Hawks of which he was the producer. The host allegedly encouraged young actors, aged between 19 and 26 at the time, to show themselves naked for castings for the series.
A false identity of the casting director
The CNews anchor had created a false identity of “casting director,” Catherine Leclerc, and emailed them persistently asking them to send videos of themselves naked, pubes shaved, and sex videos.
The complainant, who was just 19 at the time of the events, had received in particular in August 2015 two e-mails from “Catherine” signed ” Mom “ asking him if he was ready to perform oral sex on Jean-Marc Morandini “who is not just anyone”reports theFrench media agency who was able to consult the judicial file.
The young man, anxious not to miss his chance to become an actor, replied: “Obviously I won’t be squeamish about the nudity […]. I will obey what you command me. » Jean-Marc Morandini made himself known during an audition “taking photographs of some naked candidates in his office to find out if they were comfortable”.
Already on the sex offender registry
Jean-Marc Morandini is under the yoke of several lawsuits. His production company Don’t zap! Production (NZPP) is also being prosecuted for “ hidden work of five applicants.
Even though he’s appealing his first conviction for ” corruption of minors – for acts committed on three teenagers between 2009 and 2016, during telematic exchanges of a sexual nature and casting at his home – Jean-Marc Morandini is now registered in the sex offenders file. His sentence (initially a one-year suspended prison sentence) was accompanied by a two-year obligation to care.
Last April, a survey by Mediapart revealed the content of conversations of a sexual nature by the host of CNews with many minors. Two young men who were 15 and 17 when they met Jean-Marc Morandini testified for the first time. Despite all these elements, the Canal+ group supports the conductor, who is on air every morning in his “Morandini Live” program.
