Pimples happen and are completely normal. But if you are looking for a solution to get rid of it, know that according to a study in the “Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology”, there is a treatment, practiced in an institute, which would be much more effective than the others in calming these episodes of acne. His name, surely you already know him, since he is the famous Hydrafacial. The latter has become so popular in recent years that a session is even practiced every 15 seconds according to an article in the Stylist ! But how does this treatment take place and above all how is it better than the others? We explain.

Hydrafacial: a complete treatment
The hydrafacial is a very comprehensive cleaning method from the USA and practiced in an institute. It is especially popular for treating combination to oily skin, but can be used on all other skin types. It spans 3 stages.
- The first consists of deeply cleanse the skin with a gentle exfoliatoroften chemical to remove dead cells without damaging the hydrolipidic film of the skin.
- The second aims at extract blackheads and other impurities with vacuum suction. This is the funniest part, as we can see in the tank of the machine all the elements extracted from our skin. While suctioning the epidermis isn’t painful, it can be mildly uncomfortable.
- When the skin is perfectly clean, give way to hydration and luminosity. The device delivers a combination of peptides and antioxidants to reveal the glow.
- Last step and not least (but it’s optional), it’s possible complete this treatment with a phototherapy session in order to favor the recovery of the epidermis.
What the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology study says
Performed on volunteers aged 19-48, all skin types combined, this study lasted 12 weeks. Patients received Hydrafacial treatment supplemented with a twice-weekly blue light LED session.
And the results speak for themselves: 100% of the testers were found “significant improvement in acne severity, fewer acne lesions and clearer, more radiant skin” according to the press release.
A great success, which is based on the plurality of this treatment which combines dermabrasion, targeted treatment according to the needs of each person and hydration. A great discovery, which still costs its price, since a Hydrafacial practiced in an establishment will relieve you on average from 150€ to 300€…
