According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), taking 10,000 steps a day (the equivalent of walking 7 km) would be the minimum physical exercise to maintain good health and fight sedentary lifestyle. So it represents 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week. A rhythm that allows you to improve cardiovascular health, to limit memory loss but also to develop resistance and increase your vitamin D level. However, a question arises: are these recommendations enough or should we add the practice of a sport complementary?
It all depends on each person’s profile
We are all different. When some people have telecommuted their daily lives, others may spend several hours commuting between home and work. That’s why there is no one answer when it comes to physical activity. “Someone with a fairly sedentary lifestyle will need more movement, while someone whose job requires them to move all day will not need to make sure they meet the required minimum”
