Hello to all fashionistas! Your fashion editor is in touch. There are so many trends and brands in my world that I decided to keep an online diary where I would take notes on the most important things in the fashion world. And although such diaries are often called personal, mine are open to all readers – so that you are aware of the most important ones.
I don’t know about you, but I think the highlight of this week is the start of summer. And only then the whole staff changes in world brands, advertising campaigns and new collections. I still want to talk about them. I’ll leave the new creative director Ann Demeulemeester and the Balenciaga show for dessert, but for now I’ll tell you what you can leave behind. On Monday I admired the Diesel campaign with Tommy Cash, on Tuesday I looked at Gigi Hadid in the shoot of Miu Miu, on Wednesday I discussed Rita Ora on the cover of Vogue with my colleagues. And yesterday, to be honest, I tried to see Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet in pictures of the paparazzi. It didn’t quite work out, but let’s skip this moment.
There have been some really interesting events this week, so I suggest you join me on a little digital journey through the latest news in the fashion world and learn a little more about our domestic brands, advertising campaigns and collections. Shall we begin?

This Tuesday, the entire fashion community watched and then discussed the Balenciaga Resort 2024 digital show. However, not in a positive way. The main claim is that Demna Gvasalia has shown the same thing for the tenth time. Everything seems secondary in the cruise collection, which is more reminiscent of the autumn-winter season due to down jackets, hoodies and trench coats. For example, a wide-shoulder jacket is the brand’s most recognizable silhouette, but a red pleated dress is an exact replica of the yellow dress from the 2022 cruise collection. Overall, I’m looking forward to the next Balenciaga fashion show just for that. See the picture of Philip Kirkorov. Yes, the king of the national stage got his key (read: invite to the show).

They say summer is the perfect time to try new things. Where to start? From the image of course. Refresh your wardrobe for upcoming items at Street Beat stores, which have recently launched a collection codenamed “Open Up”. Inside you will find new products from your own brand Streetbeat, PUMA, adidas and Reebok.

What to wear in summer? Of course, linen products that will not only save you from the heat, but also give a pleasant feeling of coolness. By the way, designers have been actively using this lightweight fabric in their collections for the past few seasons. You can see the perfect pantsuit made of thick linen at Bottega Veneta and the trendy maxi skirt at the Spring-Summer 2023 Gabriela Hearst fashion show. Russian brands are also not far behind. For example, brand Lusio has recently introduced a new summer collection featuring premium linen products characterized by greater softness and a smoother texture. My absolute favorite pant suits.

Barbicor is one of this season’s leading aesthetics. It is almost impossible to explain the desperate love the fashion community has for this trend. But I’m pretty sure Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” movie did its job. How to respond to this “bark”? Turn pink down to your underwear. By the way, you can find excellent sets in the collection of the Russian brand Verse, inspired by the sensational movie starring Margot Robbie. Ostrich feathers, weightless lace, satin ribbons, delicate embroidery and natural silk are the main features of the collection. Drop includes key models from the brand: corset bustiers, daring and shiny lace suits, approved panties and even sleep masks. By the way, another “trick” of the brand is the ability to make personalized embroidery. What a perfect gift for a close friend!

Meet this mysterious stranger, the new creative director of Ann Demeulemeester. His name is Stefano Gallici, 27 years old and has only been in the fashion industry for four years. One of them worked as Haider Ackermann’s assistant. In 2020, Gallici moved to Ann Demeulemeester, where he became a menswear designer. This much. Rumors about how such a young designer rose to such a high position are already circulating on the Web. Maybe he’s just too talented. In any case, I’ll see you at Paris Fashion Week on September 30th.
