Dana Bash becomes CNN’s new anchor within politics on weekdays as incumbent John King moves to a reporting project for the 2024 presidential campaign.

Bash, chief political correspondent, will continue to co-host the Sunday show state of the nationwith Jake Tapper.
King, the network’s chief national correspondent, will lead a new reporting project aimed at voters in key swing states. The project will focus on voters, “giving them a voice and telling deep and nuanced stories about how they view politicians and political issues throughout the election cycle.” He will also continue the network’s coverage of election night and other special events. King took viewers through the network’s “magic wall” and broke down the voter data once the results were in.
King anchored the revived within politics for six years. According to the network within politics averaged 629,000 total viewers per day, more than CNN’s overall average for the day. According to Nielsen, it’s #2 in the 25-54 demo.
