EXCLUSIVE: Poorna Jagannathan (I have never defended Jacob) has signed on to join the cast of the comedy Goodrichwith Mila Kunis and Michael Keaton.
The picture is currently being taken in Los Angeles, where the story takes place. Described as “funny and heartwarming,” the storyline follows art dealer Andy Goodrich (Keaton), a man whose life is turned upside down when his younger second wife leaves him and enters a 90-day rehab program, while simultaneously threatening divorce. Andy takes responsibility for their nine-year-old twins and thrusts him into the world of modern parenting for which he is deeply unprepared.
With his career on the line, Andy leans on his grown and pregnant daughter Grace (Kunis) to finally grow into the father Grace never had. With all his relationships put to the test, Andy learns to understand the true meaning of it all.
Hallie Meyers-Shyer (Back at home) directed from a screenplay she also wrote. C2 Motion Picture Group by Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan (Babylon) finances and produces the film together with Daniela Taplin Lundberg (Harriet, the children are fine) and Kevin Mann (together together), with Keaton and Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: No way home, ladies) executive producer. CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group operate domestically, while Black Bear operates internationally.
As we previously revealed, Andie MacDowell (Groundhog Day)Carmen Ejogo (Real detective) and Kevin Pollak (The wonderful Mrs. Maisel). Other late arrivals include Michael Urie (Shrink), Laura Benanti (gossip girl) and Danny Deferrari (Oppenheimer).
Jagannathan is best known for her role as Nalini Vishwakumar in the Netflix teen comedy series I never have by Mindy Kaling. Other credits include Big Little Lies, Ramy, the night ofAnd Jacob defends.
