British vets have proven they can do anything. The Telegraph writes that doctors were able to cure a Labrador named Koko who was suffering from alcoholism.

After the death of his owner, the dog found himself with another dog in a shelter for homeless animals. Staff learned that Koko and her friend were addicted to alcohol because of the owner’s lifestyle. The lack of alcohol caused them to have convulsions. When the dogs were shown to the vet, they noticed that the animals had withdrawal symptoms.
“The dogs became addicted to alcohol when their owners stopped drinking before bed,” the shelter staff said in the newspaper.
As a result, veterinarians took the animals. But they only managed to save Coco. They kept the dog in a medical coma for four weeks to recover from seizures. According to shelter officials, Koko has recovered, but is not yet ready for life in a new family.
