EXCLUSIVE: Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty) will begin filming a new movie in June, we can reveal.
The film is set between the picturesque Italian island of Capri and Sorrentino’s hometown of Naples. The hand of God and series The new pope, The young pope And Be Pezzi Facili. The script comes from Sorrentino.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we’re told the project is about “the human condition.”
Naples and the surroundings were the scene for the director’s latest film, the drama 2021 The hand of God.
Contrary to a handful of reports online over the past week, we hear that the film will not be based on myths surrounding The Siren or Parthenope or Star Gomorrah Actor Giampiero De Concilio.
It’s not yet known if Netflix will be back on board after backing the filmmaker’s typically lavish movies The hand of God, which debuted in Venice to great acclaim. Set in 1980s Naples, this autobiographical project follows a teenager who pursues his love of football and cinema just as a family tragedy unfolds.
