A British father of two is believed to have died after being trapped in a spa in a fire at a five-star hotel in Morocco.
The fire apparently swept through the Jaal Riad resort in Marrakech around 16:00 on Wednesday.
Emergency services rushed to the luxury hotel, but could not save the 40-year-old man, who died of smoke inhalation, according to The Sun.
Sources told the publication that the late British father was on holiday with friends and was at the hotel’s spa when the fire broke out.
“It was a really horrible incident,” The Sun quoted a source as saying.

“He was a tourist visiting the area with friends and they had to break the news to his family. Everyone is sad. They were at the spa when the fire broke out and were contained,” they said.
The newspaper reported that the hotel confirmed the death of a guest, but its representative could not comment due to an ongoing investigation into the incident. It added that the hotel has since reopened.
The British Foreign Office is reportedly supporting the family of a man who died in Morocco.
MailOnline has reached out to the hotel for comment.

There is also a partnership with a 3,000 square meter “spa” on three floors “because it’s important to us to take care of you”.
The incident comes less than a year after a Briton collapsed while trying to scale a 4,000m mountain in Morocco with her climbing partner.
According to local media, the two were climbing North Africa’s highest mountain, Toubkal, on October 25 when the incident happened.
The couple apparently chose not to hire a guide, and the woman “fell into a hole” near the top of the mountain. She was badly injured and died instantly, it was said at the time.
