EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has released the first trailer for Rana Naiduthe Indian edition of Ray Donovanwith Rana Daggubati and his uncle Venkatesh Daggubati, together on screen for the first time.
The two superstars of Telugu cinema play the feuding father-son duo played by Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight in the original series, which ran for seven seasons on Showtime.
The Hindi version, which will start streaming on Netflix on March 10, is created by Karan Anshuman and produced by Sunder Aaron through Locomotive Global. Anshuman and Suparn S Varma directly.
Rana Daggubati plays a celebrity fixer who can handle any problem his powerful clients accuse him of, but not his father: “Playing the role of Rana Naidu was extremely challenging,” said Daggubati. “He is a complex character with a deep emotional connection to his family, but also struggles with his relationship with his father. Amidst all this drama is Rana’s professional journey and what it demands of him.”
Venkatesh Daggubati said, “Performing the character of Naga is a whole new experience for me… with his playful demeanor in stark contrast to Rana’s more intense personality. This character is funny, charismatic and versatile.”
Rana NaiduThe cast also includes Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Gaurav Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi and Rajesh Jais in key roles. The program will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions.
